Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Mira Drive iOS application ("the app"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What the app is
Mira Drive is a software product that provides spoken, real-time coaching and post-drive feedback to learner drivers. It uses your device's GPS and microphone to determine when to speak and to respond to questions you ask out loud.
2. What the app is not
- It is not a navigation system. Do not rely on it for routing or for the safety of any maneuver.
- It is not a substitute for a licensed driving instructor, an in-vehicle supervisor, or your jurisdiction's official driver-education materials.
- It is not a safety-of-life or emergency service. In a crisis, contact 9-1-1 (or 9-8-8 for the Canada Suicide Crisis Helpline) directly.
- It is not a replacement for paying attention to the road, the vehicles around you, or applicable traffic laws.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree that:
- You hold a valid permit or licence appropriate for the driving you do.
- You will obey all traffic laws and signs regardless of what the app says.
- You will not interact with the phone's screen while driving — Mira Drive is voice-first; the screen is for use when stopped.
- You are responsible for your driving at all times. The app's output is advisory, can be wrong, and can be delayed. Treat it as one input among many.
4. Subscriptions and free trial
The app offers a 7-day free trial, after which it is available by auto-renewing subscription:
- Mira Drive Pro — Monthly: $14.99 USD per month.
- Mira Drive Pro — Annual: $99 USD per year.
Pricing is set per App Store country and may differ from these USD figures in your local currency. You will see the exact price on the in-app paywall before you start the trial or purchase.
Auto-renewal. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel anytime in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access through the end of the paid period.
Free trial. The 7-day trial gives full access. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your selected plan begins automatically. You can cancel during the trial without being charged. Apple may apply eligibility rules to the trial (typically: one trial per Apple ID per subscription group).
Refunds. All purchases are processed by Apple. We do not issue refunds directly. To request a refund, contact Apple Support via reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Acceptable use
You will not:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the entitlement / subscription system.
- Submit content (e.g. via the in-app feedback feature) that is unlawful, harassing, or that infringes another person's rights.
6. Coach output
The coach's spoken responses are generated by an AI language model. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Do not rely on the coach for legal, medical, or safety-critical decisions. Do not act on a coach instruction that conflicts with road signs, traffic signals, the vehicle in front of you, or your own judgment.
7. Intellectual property
The app, including its code, voice personas, branding, and content, is owned by us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for the duration your subscription is active (or during the free trial). All other rights are reserved.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ACCURATE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US (VIA APPLE) IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.
10. Termination
You can stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the app in a way that risks harm to other users. Sections 5–9 survive termination.
11. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the app, except that either party may bring a small-claims action in their home jurisdiction.
